Yorkshire Property Community Comes Together for The Annual Charity Lunch
2 min

This past Friday, members of Yorkshire’s property community gathered at the First Direct Bank Arena for this year’s Yorkshire Property Charity Lunch, an annual event dedicated to raising funds and awareness for local causes.

This year’s chosen charity, Candlelighters, has been a beacon of support for children and families affected by childhood cancer across Yorkshire for over 40 years.

The afternoon began with a vibrant drinks reception, where property professionals from across the region came together to reconnect, share stories, and celebrate the strength of the local industry. The atmosphere was full of energy, the kind that comes from people uniting around a shared purpose.

As guests took their seats for lunch, Kevin Sinfield OBE took to the stage to deliver his speech. Known not only for his legendary rugby career but also for his extraordinary fundraising efforts in honour of his late friend Rob Burrow, Kevin delivered an inspiring and emotional speech that captivated the entire room.

He spoke about friendship, loyalty, and the importance of showing up for others, values that extend far beyond the rugby pitch. His reflections on Rob’s courage in the face of motor neurone disease, and the community spirit that continues to fuel their charitable efforts, resonated deeply with everyone present.

Following Kevin’s speech, the energy shifted into full celebration mode as the “not-so-silent” auction and raffle began. The sound of friendly competition, laughter, and generosity filled the venue as guests bid enthusiastically on prizes, all in the name of raising funds for Candlelighters.

The result was a day that beautifully blended professionalism with purpose, where networking turned into connection, and generosity became the true highlight of the afternoon. Every pound raised will go directly towards Candlelighters’ work supporting families through treatment, recovery, and beyond, offering financial assistance, emotional guidance, and moments of light during incredibly difficult times.

Reflecting on the event, it’s clear that the Yorkshire Property Charity Lunch is more than just a date on the industry calendar. It’s a reminder of the power of community and the positive change that can happen when businesses come together for something bigger than themselves.

At SOCIETY STUDIOS®, we’re proud to have been part of an event that celebrates compassion, collaboration, and collective impact, values that sit at the heart of everything we do.
